Zartrox is formed by Tiago B. Jammal and Adriano M. Campos. These two insane minds met each other in childhood when living in Belo Horizonte, but as time went by they lost contact. They met again in the late 90’s at the same time they started to attend electronic music parties on that city. In the year 2000, when Trance became more popular in Belo Horizonte, they knew the style and became enthusiastics with psychedelic electronic music. Searching for fresh and new air, the duo moved to Santa Catarina, on the south of the country. They met people and got involved on the souther scene, where they worked for a long time with party scenography. They had the first contact with production in 2004 and since then the work process was in slow motion due to financial problems, making it difficult to buy equipment and attend to production’s classes. The solution they found was simple, they became autodidacts. In the end of 2006 emerge Zartrox. A dark, weird and minimalistic Psytrance project with influences of projects like: The Delta, Spirialienz, Midi Miliz, X-Dream, Reefer Decree, Krumelur, Sensient, Comadose, Noktamid, Pondscum, Parasense, Crying Orc, Zik, Matutero, Minimal Criminal, A.K.D., Haldolliun, Psynatorium and many others. A fusion between Dark Psychedelic and Minimal Progressive, that turns the sound really surprising and outstanding. With fat basslines, hard kicks, chaotic melodies and weird synths, they make a perfect combination for an extremely confused and psychedelic night. Their first release is in the compilation “The Black Sun”, by Dead Tree Productions.
